Die Umsetzung der Sustainable Development Goals erfordert weltweit umfangreiche Investitionen, insbesondere in Entwicklungsländern. „Investment Facilitation“ kann Gastländern dabei helfen mehr Ausländische Direktinvestitionen anzuziehen und deren Beitrag zur nachhaltigen Enticklung zu erhöhen. Die WTO hat Diskussionen zu einem – möglicherweise multilateralen – Investment Facilitation Abkommen (IFA) angestoßen. Ziel des Projektes ist es einen Investment Facilitation Index zu entwerfen, um den aktuellen Gebrauch solcher Maßnahmen und die Auswirkungen eines IFA zu quantifizieren.
