Venus Blindfolding Cupid by Italian 16th Century, Anonymous Artist

https://www.nga.gov/artworks/41594-venus-blindfolding-cupid

Though this painting presents a mythological allegory, Venus wears a costume and jewelry closely related to the fashion of the time it was painted. The two cupids may represent Eros and Anteros, both sons of Venus, but symbols of contrasting aspects of love—the blind and sensuous, and the clear-sighted and virtuous.

Still Life with Grapes and Game by Frans Snyders

https://www.nga.gov/artworks/134540-still-life-grapes-and-game

In the early 17th century, Frans Snyders created a new form of still life by combining fruit and game into a single image, and Still Life with Grapes and Game is an outstanding example of this innovation. Snyders’s lavish still lifes—wittily arranged and executed with his broad, firm brushstrokes and characteristic palette of bright and direct colors—have a dynamic character unmatched by other artists.
