Generation time measures the trade-off between survival and reproduction in a life cycle.
They are exposed to many dangers throughout their lives
This year, the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings took place as in-person event again after having been forced to switch to a digital format for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The small town on Lake Constance has been the venue for the annual meeting of top scientists since 1951. For a whole week, there are lectures, discussions and social events where young scientists can talk to the stars of the scene. Five NobelPrize Laureates from the Max Planck Society participated, as well as 22 young researchers from Max Planck Institutes who successfully passed a rigorous multi-stage application and selection process. This year’s meeting was dedicated to the subject of chemistry.
