AFRISTAT is an international organization created by a treaty signed September 21, 1993 in Abidjan by the 14 African member countries of the franc zone. At present (march 2011) the organization counts 19 members. The organization provides the activities of national statistical offices in member states. AFRISTAT also promotes regional and economic integration by aiming for consistency and better comparability of statistical data. Furthermore it supports national statistical offices in data collection and processing. Its work covers the following areas: the organization, the administration of statistical systems and national accounts. ERNWACA-ROCARE was founded in 1989 as a network of educational researchers from 17 West and Central African countries. The network cooperates with education ministries, NGOs and universities of the respective countries concerning research projects but also giving advice and dealing with implementation of concepts etc. The website also provides a digital library with many fulltext documents (national reports, studies, the Journal of Educational Research in Africa and more). Since August 2016, ERNWACA-ROCARE has been publishing the ERNWACA Outreach Journal (Revue de vulgarisation du ROCARE). – Besides ERNWACA-ROCARE, there is the African Educational Research Network (AERN) founded in 1992. This network has 8 members (universities) from anglophone African countries, two of which are also members of ERNWACA-ROCARE.
