A graphene nanoribbon could be suitable as a nanowire for molecular electronics. Scientists in L. Grill’s group at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society measured the conductance of carbon nanostrips as a function of their length and the electron energy. The conductance measurements help researchers understand charge transport in nanoscopic molecular wires and make progress in nanotechnology, especially in nanoelectronics.
