Bettina Lotsch, director at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, receives the Leibniz Prize 2025. She is honoured for her development of new materials. The Leibniz Prize, awarded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), is Germany’s most prestigious research funding award, accompanied by prize money of 2.5 million euros. This year, the prize will honour 10 scientists, including four women, granting them seven years of research freedom with minimal bureaucratic constraints. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on 15 March 2023 in Berlin.
