This organization promotes the cooperation of the universities in the West Central region of South America. The web site provides information about the organizational structure, administrative bodies, statutes, activities and programs, documents and other publications of the council and a link list of the member universities.
This site lists all the information and links that the Organization of American States (OAS) provides in the field of education. For example, its „Department of Human Development, Education, and Employment“ aims at supporting the cooperation between the North and South American member states in educational matters. It created the „Inter-American Teacher Educator Network“ (ITEN) and runs the „Regional Education Indicators Project“ (PRIE) which provides educational indicators for North and South America. Structured texts have been elaborated as an information source for experts who prepare themselves for an assignment to work in the respective country. However educational information is not the focal point of these pages. Explicitly it exists only in brief or implicitly imbedded in this comprehensive overview. Since the observation and interpretation of educational processes requires a solid knowledge of the socioeconomic conditions of the country concerned, this „area orientation“ is highly recommended. Website of the „Latin American Study Centre for Inclusive Education (CELEI)“ in Chile. Unfortunately, the website is somewhat confusing and many parts lead to empty pages. Nevertheless, you get an idea of the research work done by the centre. You can find news on inclusive education in Latin America, on important events and more. One of the most interesting parts of the website is the Open Access catalogue with fulltext books and papers. CELEI furthermore publishes a journal which is Open Access.
