The ISI is the largest international scientific society on the fields of statistics with approx. 5000 members from all over the world. The ISI unites the expertise in the sectors mathematical-statistical methods, evaluation methods, information technology, official statistics and formation on a global level. The goal of ISI is to develop and to improve statistical methods and procedures as well as their application in politics, economy, administration and science. The most important instrument for achieving this goal is the promotion of international collaboration and of the exchange of the newest knowledge on all branches of statistics.

SURF is the joint network services and ICT organisation of the Dutch institutions of higher education and research. It supports and facilitates realisations in the field of ICT. The internet platform for the network is SURFnet (http://www.surfnet.nl/en/). On the website the organisation and a comprehensive list of projects with relevant links are provided. Publications can be searched via a search engine and are offering the choice between a fulltext or a summary (partly English documents, all to download). The meeting calendar is searchable via search engine, too.

Unfortunately, the Dutch Association for Teacher Educators (VELON) no longer provides the short English description of the association that it used to have on its website. You can only look it up in the Internet Archive (as of 2018). In Dutch, you can find manifold information about the profession, its norms and rules, official documents concerning the profession, an online magazine (whose articles are only accessible for members, but a free summary is available). Moreover, you will find information on conferences and other events. One conference is organised together with the Flemish Association for Teacher Educators every three years. Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) / Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie (NVAO) – english information

Together, the Netherlands and Flanders run an entity for accreditation and quality assurance of educational institutions in their respective countries. The NVAO also organises the accredition of foreign qualifications. Its website provides a lot of information on the work processes of NVAO, including annual reports on accreditation processes, guidelines, criteria and much more. Netherlands Educational Research Association (VOR) / Vereniging voor Onderwijs Research (VOR) – english information

The Netherlands Educational Research Association VOR provides English information on its organisation, on the eleven thematical sections of VOR (including a PhD group) as well as on the annual Educational Research Days (Onderwijsresearchdagen) that VOR organises jointly with the Flemish Educational Research Forum (VFO). The Dutch version of the website provides more detailed information for the points mentioned. Moreover, you will find information on the journal „Pedagogische Studiën“ that is also published jointly with VFO. Digitized issues from 1920 to 2000 can be accessed free of charge.
