The SCP Office of the Netherlands is a government agency doing independent scientific research. The main fields studied are health, welfare, social security, labour market and education, and especially the interfaces between these different social fields. Most publications are available in Dutch with an English summary. Some publications are entirely in English. They can be downloaded and/or ordered by mail. SCP has a wide range of data files available on-line, e.g. longitudinal series of population surveys, international surveys, institutional data, data for ad hoc projects… . The main task of the SLO is the devolpment and dissemination of information about curricula. SLO, serving as a national expertise centre, provides independent and professional advice and support for curriculum development in primary, secondary, and vocational education. The emphasis is on the translation of educational innovation into products and services that are of immediate use in everyday school practice and provide answers to problems felt in that practice.

Unfortunately, the Dutch Association for Teacher Educators (VELON) no longer provides the short English description of the association that it used to have on its website. You can only look it up in the Internet Archive (as of 2018). In Dutch, you can find manifold information about the profession, its norms and rules, official documents concerning the profession, an online magazine (whose articles are only accessible for members, but a free summary is available). Moreover, you will find information on conferences and other events. One conference is organised together with the Flemish Association for Teacher Educators every three years. Onderwijscoöperatie (Education Cooperative) – english information

The Education Cooperative unites several educational workers unions: * Algemene Onderwijsbond (AOb) (with a short English description on their website) * Beter Onderwijs Nederland (BON) * CNV Onderwijs (with a short English description on their website) * Federatie van Onderwijsvakorganisaties (FvOv) * Platform Vakinhoudelijke Verenigingen Voortgezet Onderwijs (Platform VVVO) All in all, the cooperative represents about 200.000 teachers, that is more than two third of the teachers in the Netherlands. Moreover, there are cooperations with other educational association in the VET area and others. Unfortunately, the website of the Educational Cooperative is available in Dutch only. It provides information on goals and activities of the Cooperative, on the teaching profession, on news from this sector as well as on events and conferences. Interuniversity Center for Educational Research (ICO) – english information

ICO is the Dutch Interuniversity Center for Educational Research. Faculty departments and research centres from 15 Dutch universities participate in ICO. The aims are to promote fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of education (e. g. interactive learning, learning and working, teaching and teacher ICT tools for designing, new examination and assessment technology). Research projects, links to the international network and further websites on educational research in the Netherlands are presented.
