NOWT was founded in 1992 by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to meet the need for comprehensive and systemic data on the performance and international standing of the Dutch S&T system. This summary version of NOWT’s 2000 S&T Indicators Report is the fourth in its series. It provides a brief synopsis of the tables, graphs and related texts from the original Dutch version. As a National Body for Vocational Education in the Netherlands, ECABO is responsible for the content of senior secondary vocational education, in eight categories: secretarial work, company administration, commercial work, logistics, automation, legal work, information services, security. ECABO draws up the attainment targets for examinations in senior secondary vocational education ( MBO) courses. In addition, ECABO recruits and approves apprenticeship businesses for professional practice training. The third core task is to evaluate the examinations set by educational institutions.
