The Center on International Education Benchmarking, a Programme of the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE) provides analyses of socalled top-performing education systems in different countries. Among others, the analyses take a look at the reasons for the good performance of the respective education systems. You can find an analysis of the Netherlands from 2015. The institute is an inter-university, national research institute that conducts research on the education and development of children and adolescents from birth through young adulthood. The main goal of ISED research is to determine in what manner, and to what extent, the development of children and youth can be optimized through better child rearing, socialization and instructional practices, and through professional intervention. NOWT was founded in 1992 by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to meet the need for comprehensive and systemic data on the performance and international standing of the Dutch S&T system. This summary version of NOWT’s 2000 S&T Indicators Report is the fourth in its series. It provides a brief synopsis of the tables, graphs and related texts from the original Dutch version.
