CITO is specialized in the development of tests, exams, the assessment of learning results and certification. Using these specialisms as a starting-point CITO contributes to the improvement of educational quality. The institute has become widely known for its Primary Education Final Test and the national exams. Since its foundation in 1968 the institute has developed a broad package of instruments for testing and assessment, aiming at primary and special education, secondary education, vocational education and adult education.

Since 1 September 2005, the Educatieve Hogeschool van Amsterdam (EHvA) is an integral part of Hogeschool van Amsterdam. Its predecessor was The Amsterdam Faculty of Education (EFA), that was formed in 1996 through the merging of the faculties of education of Hogeschool van Amsterdam and INHOLLAND University. This institute calls itself a major and in some areas leading and one of the largest teacher education institution in the Netherlands.

The LSVb was founded in 1963 as a successor to the „Nederland de Studentenvakbeweging“ (SVB) founded in 1963. The LSVb claims to be the „official representative of all Dutch students towards the ministry and other relevant parties“. National Student Union (ISO) / Interstedelijk Studenten Overleg (ISO) – english information

The Dutch student union ISO was founded in 1993 as an umbrella organisation for 5 local university students councils. Since 1995, ISO also represents students of universities of applied sciences. As of today, ISO represents 35 organizations (december 2013). On its English website, ISO provides information on its vision and mission, on international collaborations (e.g., ISO is a member of the European Students‘ Union ESU) and a university path finder for foreign students who are interested in studying in the Netherlands.
