CHEPS is a research institute that seeks to make a significant contribution to understanding policy-making, governance and management in higher education. This Internet portal offers information about diverse aspects of the studies in the Netherlands as acknowledgement of study degrees, financing, application, courses of study etc. In addition, it contains a list of Dutch universities as well as progress reports and information about seminars concerning studies in the Netherlands. The Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences covers the entire field of learning, comprising two divisions: a Science Division and a Humanities and Social Sciences Division. The main objective is advising the government in all fields of science. KNAW is also responsible for a number of leading institutes which carry out fundamental research in the life sciences, humanities and scientific information and is assessing the quality of basic and strategic research. ROA is a research institute attached to the Maastricht University. Chief activity is commissioned research and concerns the match between education and the labour market. The labour market and training division and the education and occupational career division are presented on the website as well as more information about the institute, staff, conferences and seminars can be obtained. Every year the Dutch Inspectorate of Education publishes the Annual Education Report on the state of education. This report outlines developments and key themes in Dutch education and includes findings for primary, secondary and higher education. An English summary informs about the most important subjects of the report. There is an extra website for the reports. Unfortunately, this website doesn’t list all the reports available. APS International invites teachers to learn about modern models for instruction, based on up to date, research based knowledge in such a way that these models can be applied in local settings. We also understand the need to involve principals, parents, education officials and the community at large in any school improvement effort. APS International aims at generously sharing our knowledge with our partners and clients abroad, and also at learning from our partners and clients abroad. Crucial in our approach is the need for a sense of mutual development, that should be characteristic in our projects. We try to design useable adaptations while taking into consideration local, cultural, financial, societal possibilities and constraints.
