Fragile Staaten unterscheiden sich in ihren Problemen und Bedürfnissen stark voneinander. Diese Komplexität und unterschiedliche Problemlagen erschwert die Arbeit der Entwicklungspolitik. Indikatoren zur Messung von fragiler Staatlichkeit oder Einzelfallanalysen reichen bei der zunehmenden internationalen Bedeutung fragiler Staaten nicht mehr aus. Dieses Projekt erarbeitet eine datengestützte Typologie fragiler Staaten, deren Einheiten nicht Idealtypen, sondern real auffindbare „Problemcluster“ sind.

Die Begrenzung des Klimawandels erfordert schnelle und radikale Transformationen unserer bisherigen gesellschaftlichen Entwicklung. Wir müssen kohlenstoffarme Entwicklungspfade umsetzen, die bis 2070 global betrachtet zu Nullemissionen führen und die drängenden Verteilungs- und Gerechtigkeitsfragen sowohl auf nationaler Ebene wie auch im Rahmen der internationalen Klima- und Entwicklungspolitik berücksichtigen. Das Forschungsvorhaben untersucht ordnungspolitische Herausforderungen und Schritte der Dekarbonisierung der Weltwirtschaft und der Erhöhung der Klimaresilienz von Gesellschaften – für eine klimasmarte und gerechte Transformation.
