One of Domenico Veneziano’s major works is an altarpiece that he painted about 1445 for the Church of Santa Lucia dei Magnoli, in Florence. Arthur Garfield Dove was born in Canandaigua in the Finger Lakes region of New York on August 2, 1880, and was raised in nearby Geneva.
