This projects aims to clarify the private sector’s role in adaptation finance in developing countries and emerging markets in particular. The output of the Study will be a report and a series of recommendations identifying the potential for private adaptation finance and for stimulating private financial flows for adaptation and resilience activities, which will be presented at the UNFCCC COP 21 held in Paris in November and December 2015.

Durch die Durchführung von Fortbildungsmaßnahmen, die Umsetzung gemeinsamer Projekte sowie die Einbindung von Kunst in fünf städtischen „Reallaboren“ in Mexiko, Brasilien und Argentinien wird der Aufbau von neuen Modellen städtischer Zusammenschlüsse von Akteuren („Koalitionen“) sowie städtischer Regierungsführung gefördert. Fragile Staaten unterscheiden sich in ihren Problemen und Bedürfnissen stark voneinander. Diese Komplexität und unterschiedliche Problemlagen erschwert die Arbeit der Entwicklungspolitik. Indikatoren zur Messung von fragiler Staatlichkeit oder Einzelfallanalysen reichen bei der zunehmenden internationalen Bedeutung fragiler Staaten nicht mehr aus. Dieses Projekt erarbeitet eine datengestützte Typologie fragiler Staaten, deren Einheiten nicht Idealtypen, sondern real auffindbare „Problemcluster“ sind.
