Probably purchased at Drouot-Richlieu in Paris, 1920s; thereafter by descent to Martine Vedrinelle, Saint Aygulf, France. Mme. Vedrinelle sold the piece at auction at Tajan in February 8, 2008 (lot 135), where it was purchased by Didier Wormser of L’Etoile d’Ishtar, Paris, from whom the Museum purchased the work
