23.10.2017 Double Shift: Syrian refugees / Jordanian schools – a multimedia documentary – english information

https://www.bildungsserver.de/bisy.html?a=8850&spr=1

For a long time now, Jordan has been hosting refugees from other countries. The Syrian refugees have become the biggest refugee community during the last years. Among them, there are many school-aged children. This website documents challenges and solutions about how to organise the schooling of these children. One major solution was the introduction of the socalled „double shift“ system which means that Jordanian and Syrian children go to school in different shifts (in the morning and in the afternoon). The website provides background information, as well as statistics, case studies and photographies. The website got the German Design Award 2018 in the category Excellent Communications Design / Web. Survey of ICT and Education in Africa : Gabon Country Report (2007) – english information

https://www.bildungsserver.de/bisy.html?a=7673&spr=1

Gabon has opted to set up a national system for general access to information using computerrelated technologies. However, there is currently no plan in the education system to incorporate ICT into the administrative and teaching domains. This short Country Report, a result of a larger Survey of ICT in Education in Africa, provides a general overview of current activities and issues related to ICT use in education in Gabon. The data presented here should be regarded as illustrative rather than exhaustive. ICT use in education is at a particularly dynamic stage in Africa; new developments and announcements happening on a daily basis somewhere on the continent. Therefore, this report should be seen as “snapshot” that was current at the time they were taken; it is expected that certain facts and figures presented may become dated very quickly.
