epa05679371 A skier has fun on a slope during the opening of ski season 2016-2017 in Bansko, some 150 km from Sofia, Bulgaria, 17 December 2016. The Bulgarian ski resort of Bansko, between the mountains Rila and Pirin, offers 18 ski routes about 50 km long with the most famous one named after the Italian ski legend Alberto Tomba. The Bansko resort is the best ski resort of Bulgaria and was awarded by the Post Office Money Travelas as the cheapest ski resort in Europe year-after-year.
