Smart solutions help citizens to manage their lives easier, more productive and more sustainable. During a pandemic, such solutions are of vital importance, e.g. digital learning, home office, or e-commerce. Our project region has dedicated itself intensively to the topics of innovation support, climate change and smart cities since 2013. In 2014 we founded the Smart City Education Initiative (SCEI) together with a large number of partners. The cross-border association is made up of stakeholders from politics, business and civil society. For example, SCEI offers municipalities, change-makers and other stakeholders important educational events, networking opportunities and matchmaking. The annual Smart City Festival is one of our highlights. The international SCF has been held annually since 2017 and is one of the highlights of the smart city community in the region every year.
