Nie wolno zapomnieć o swoich korzeniach. Gry w piłkę nauczyłem się w Bergheim. Nadal jestem mocno związany z tym miastem i miejscowym klubem. Tutaj mieszka moja rodzina oraz wielu moich przyjaciół. Kiedy jestem w okolicy, nie przegapię żadnego klubowego meczu na tutejszej murawie.

Co mógłbym napisać tu o Kolonii? Internet okazałby się „za mały”, by pomieścić, to, co mógłbym napisać
o moim uczuciu do tego miasta. Kolonia jest z pewnością pępkiem świata 😉 – każdy, kto w to wątpi powinien natychmiast zarezerwować bilet i tutaj przyjechać. Naturalnie metropolie, takie jak np. Londyn, to całkiem inna historia – jednak wszędzie dobrze, ale pod katedrą najlepiej. Gdy miałem dwa i pół roku, moi rodzice przeprowadzili się do Nadrenii. Tutaj się wychowałem. Kocham to miasto i jego mieszkańców, gigantyczny stadion, kibiców. Czy mam wymieniać dalej…?

Was kann man über Köln hier schreiben? Das Internet wäre zu klein um mein Gefühl für diese Stadt zu beschreiben. Köln ist eben ganz sicher der Nabel der Welt ;). Jeder, der das bezweifelt, sollte genau jetzt sein Ticket buchen und die Reise in die Domstadt am Rhein antreten. Natürlich ist eine Metropole wie London eine ganz andere Geschichte, eine echte Weltstadt — aber home ist eben where the Dom ist. Als ich 2,5 Jahre alt war, sind meine Eltern mit mir ins Rheinland gezogen. Hier bin ich aufgewachsen. Ich liebe die Stadt, die Menschen — das gigantische Stadion — die Fans. Braucht man noch mehr Worte ….?

What can I say about Cologne here? The Internet is probably too small for me to describe all my feelings for this city. Cologne is most definitely the centre of the universe 😉 Anyone who doesn’t believe me should book themselves a ticket and go and visit the cathedral city on the Rhine. Of course, a metropolis like London is something else entirely, it’s truly a cosmopolitan centre – but for me, home is where the Dom is. I was two and a half years old when I moved to the Rhineland with my parents. I grew up here; I love the city and its people, the huge stadium, the fans. Need I say more …?

Fußball spielen habe ich in Bergheim gelernt. Mit der Stadt und dem Verein bin ich nach wie vor eng verbunden. Hier wohnen Familie und viele Freunde. Wenn ich in der Gegend bin, verpasse ich kein Heimspiel auf dem heiligen Kunstrasen.

Rumours that the weather is always bad in Germany, that the people have no sense of humour and work 25 hours a day are not true, take my word for it! In Cologne they’ve even invented their own ‘fifth season’ of the year: Karneval time. And I always include it in my yearly planning. If the fixture list allows it, I’m there. In 2012, I took part in the Rose Monday parade on the float of the ‘Ehrengarde’. That was a very moving experience — almost like the Champions League — Kölle Alaaf!
