The Centre for Educational Assessment is a research centre of the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences at the University of Helsinki in Finland. The Centre carries out assessment of education, particularly of „learning-to-learn“, which means the general preparedness to learn that develops together with the knowledge of different subjects. Besides its own research and educational activities the Centre provides different kinds of research services by ordination.

Access to six databases collecting legal documents, including Finnish acts of parliament, and English language translations as far as they exist. The databases can be searched by using English terms, i.e. „education“.

In this report, the need to strengthen the international activities of institutions of higher education is justified by both the new challenges arising from the international operating environment and the need for domestic development. It provides a review of the present situation with respect to the international operations of institution of higher education and assesses the potential of Finnish institutions to succeed in the increasingly intense competition for talent and resources. In conclusion, it presents a number of proposals for action, including the cost effects.

KVS Foundation, was founded in 1874. It is the oldest adult education organisation in Finlan. Founded in 1969, FAEA is an umbrella organisation for liberal adult education in Finland. Its member organisations are the Association of Adult Education Centres, the Finnish Folk High School Association, eleven liberal organisations working in the field of adult education which maintain Finland’s eleven study circle centres, the KVS foundation and the Swedish-speaking organisation ‚Svenska Folkskolans Vänner‘. CICERO Learning is a network for researchers and research groups on learning. The primary members of the network are based in different universities and research institutes in Finland. The network builds co-operation with research groups and units around the world. CICERO Learning network was established in 2005, and is coordinated by the University of Helsinki, Finland. The network follows an transdisciplinary approach.
